Tim McCool

Timothy B. McCool has served as Assistant District Attorney since 2002. The Gordo native graduated from Pickens Academy in 1989 before earning a degree in English from Samford University. Tim graduated from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1996. He worked for the State of Tennessee Legislature’s Judiciary Committee as a research analyst before returning to Pickens County in 1999.

He partnered with W.O. Kirk Jr. to form Kirk & McCool. Following Mr. Kirk’s retirement, Tim practiced solo until forming a partnership with John Morgan Owens in 2019. He now practices in the firm McCool and Owens in addition to his duties as an assistant prosecutor.

In addition to practicing law, Tim has been the pastor of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church near Gordo, since 2002.
